Herbert has started his career as an auditor in 1998 in the Netherlands. He moved to Curacao in 2006 and subsequently to St. Maarten in 2009. Herbert is Partner Assurance and Advisory. Over the course of years, he has been involved in audit and advisory engagements in the entire Dutch Caribbean in different industries like hospitality, pension funds, healthcare, retail and government owned entities. Before he became Partner Assurance & Advisory he led the Business Process Solutions department and provided compilation, administrative, payroll and other business advisory services to small and medium sized entities.
His extensive experience in the field of audit, business services and advisory gives him the perfect background to provide very hands-on professional services to entities of all different sizes and across all industries. As per 1 December 2022 he has been appointed as the Managing Partner of Grant Thornton in the Dutch Caribbean.
Herbert is also a board member of the Sint Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association (SHTA) since 2021 and board member of RISC Takers Football Club since 2015.
